SAE J515 Revised rationale reference standard

Currently there is no ISO standard comparable to SAE J51 5, specifically applying to O-rings for hydraulic system connections. We hope to use the SAE J51 5 document as the basis for a new ISO standard to fill this void. At the last ISO meeting, this topic was initiated and it was requested that we consider the existing DIN 3771 -3 — Fluid Systems: O-Rings; Materials, Field of Application document requirements also. For the NBR90 materials, DIN 3771 specifies a minimum operation temperature of –30 °C. This is not the only difference between the SAE and DIN documents, but addressing this issue now would remove one potential conflict for the future.
