Material and Manufacture—Fittings shall be made from brass and, at manufacturer's option and in accordance with his process of manufacture, may be milled from the bar and forged. Brass shall be UNS C36000 (half-hard), UNS C34500, or UNS C35000 for bar or extruded stock and UNS C37700 for forgings.
Sleeves shown in Figure 4 shall be made from UNS C36000 brass and annealed to a maximum hardness of Rockwell F70. Sleeves shown in Figure 10 shall be made from UNS C36000 brass.
Tube supports shown in Figure 9 shall be made from UNS C26000 or 300 series stainless steel, according to manufacturer's process standard.
Nuts may be made from steel when so specified by the purchaser.
Finish—The external surfaces and threads of all carbon steel parts shall be plated or coated with a suitable material that passes a 72 h salt spray test in accordance with ASTM B 1 1 7.
